Congratulations to co-leader, Jason MacGill’s 2005 Mitsubishi EVO MR VIII on being in a 4 page “COVER” feature in PASMAG Overdrive Magazine which is inside of the 2008 Annual Buyer’s Guide issue, pgs 150-154. PASMAG Overdrive wrote, “With MacGill and Team Hybrid rounding the EVO into form, the team at Enkei took notice and wanted to throw support their way. A set of race-engineered GTC-01 Racing Series wheels measuring 18×9 inches were bolted onto each corner, wrapped in 245/40R18-sized KDW rubber from long time Team Hybrid supporter BFGoodrich…A special shout out to James Lin and the whole Team Hybrid crew, David Huang and of course, wife Kymberlee MacGill.”

Congratulations to member, David Huang’s 2006 IS350 in a 5 page “COVER” feature in Performance Auto & Sound Magazine 2008 Annual Buyer’s Guide, pgs 124-130.
PAS wrote, “Team Hybrid doesn’t produce any half-done projects. Everyone who is onboard with the team knows that to join you have to be committed to building outstanding showcars year over year.”
This car is also special because it had to be set apart from the masses since this car was going to tour across the county with HIN in the busiest booth there – the 2008 PAS Model Search. This is high exposure since the IS350 was a backdrop for literally thousands of photos being taken of young model hopefuls.

Dear Potential Recruit:
To qualify, first you need to send in a proposal via e-mail to: [email protected].
Scott Dean is our Recruiting Director.
He will review the proposal before taking it to our management to get approval.
Also, you must fillout the MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION so we can have a profile of you and your car.
Once it is approved, the potential member will be invited to our next meeting.
During the meeting, the potential member will go through a team-wide interview.
After the meeting, the potential member will then be set aside and have a personal meeting with Scott Dean and/or your Chapter Director and possibly any other co-leaders that are interested in attending the meeting.
The potential recruit then has a chance then to decide if Team Hybrid is the team he/she wants to join.
If he/she decides not to, there will be no hard feelings but a warm handshake. If he/she decides to join, they will then be handed Team Hybrid’s probationary contract with a monthly fee of $35 (Non-Refundable) and probationary standard operation manual.

The proposal that you email to will have to consist of: (copy & past these 5 questions)
Your vehicle does not have to be show quality or “Hybrid Quality” to join Team Hybrid .
We have over 100+ members, half of them do not have a show quality vehicle. But what Team Hybrid strives for, is to nurture them, grow them, guide them in the import scene in order for them to be the next superstars of Team Hybrid! We understand that it takes time, money, vision, ambition, and good taste to build an award winning, magazine published and SEMA worthy vehicle.
The team and the management group are there to help out any individual members that are in need.
At times, a co-leader or team president will personally conduct networking seminars each year to teach our members how to obtain sponsors, follow up, network, and etc.
Moreover, we encourage all members to come with our management team and our staff during trade shows to witness and learn how we lobby for corporate sponsors.
We call this “building your pipeline”. Growing the next batch of superstars is always one of our TOP PRIORITY.
All in all, cars are only a part of Team Hybrid.
What we try to create is an atmosphere of successful individuals. A large team always networking in order to help each other not only in cars, but in career, family and other aspects of life as well.
Our team currently composes of doctors, engineers, business owners, corporate managers, graduate students, undergraduate students, military personnel, etc. Individuals from all walks of life coming together to form the well oiled machine that is Team Hybrid
Moreover, Team Hybrid (after 25+ years of existence) continues to be a big family.
Our Co-Leaders plan events such as BBQs, coffee runs, weekend gatherings, sponsorship seminars, product education, product training, etc., in order to provide an environment of interaction between our co-leaders, chapter directors, members, hunnyz, and probies outside of car shows or race events.
We are personally honored that you have selected Team Hybrid as your new family and team.
We wish you good luck on your proposal and our “Hybrid Family” looks forward to meeting you in person.
Hybrid Luv,
Team Hybrid Management
By providing the TEAM with goals to strive for, each member spends countless hours of time, effort, and dedication to show love (aka. “Hybrid Luv”) and our purpose. It’s not just about winning a show or a race here or there, it’s about getting there as a TEAM. Team Hybrid has a special formula and will continue to make a strong statement in the import industry in the new millennium.
This TEAM is not just another car club or crew, but a special family of friends consisting itself in a team ideology. Team Hybrid is a well-rounded team with close friendships, a strong management system, honor, trust, understanding, patience and HYBRID LUV incorporated amongst the original (OG) Hybrid Members, the Hybrid Hunnyz, the Generation 2 Hybridz, the Generation 3 Hybridz, and now the 25th Generation Hybridz.
Team Hybrid history was made on January 7, 1995 in Oxnard, California when James Lin decided that his inspirations and imaginations to upgrade his ride would compliment well with peers who value and respect his work. James spent the first 3 months preparing a wide range of new and exciting ideas in order to build a strong solid foundation to start off his visions.
Everyone knows it’s easy to gather a group of friends, and just give it a title to start a Team, but in contrast, James researches: the name and meaning of the team, the colors of the team, the overall theme of the team, the management system/SOP/leadership circle, show displays/presentation, the type of members, the type of corporate sponsors, the quality of members, hunnyz, and probationary members’ cars/personality/background, and the team’s own original style to present to its fellow peers and corporate sponsors in the import industry at show, races, international/domestic magazine articles and in social media.
There is a varying number of ways to construct a team, but to start with a solid blue print and have an idea that flows makes a Team with fewer weak links. The Team knows how selfish some members can become, having personal ideas to break up the team, having jealous feelings for whatever reason, having lack of support or just using the name of “Hybrid” to make a name of themselves. Over half of the Hybrid members have been with the Team since 1995.
Team Hybrid is a passion each member feels. With a strong leader, there is always a good supporting staff to aid and carry out all responsibilities.
At the head of its staff is:
There are many other Hybridz & Hunnyz who have and continue to contribute to our team; Team Hybrid appreciates and thanks those members for all their effort and dedication.
The word “Hybrid” means: crossbreed between the two species according to the Webster’s dictionary.
This is our theme: Crossbreeding of engine swapping. Crossbreeding of a variety of body kits styling, rims, suspension, brakes, mobile audio and extracting different parts from the major Japanese, European & Domestic car-makers (Toyota, Lexus, Acura, Honda, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc.) as well as specialty aftermarket manufacturers. Crossbreeding a variety of interiors, exterior paint colors, and graphics. Crossbreeding a diverse Team with every make of car ranging from Honda, BMW and Lamborghini. Crossbreeding of ethnicities of Hybrid members/hunnyz.
This combination of many different members and cars is a rare occurrence in the Import Teams. Unlike the teams of today, Team Hybrid is a relatively lasting and strong in their ties due to the everlasting Hybrid luv amongst the members.
Throughout the existence of Team Hybrid, the organization has won over 4500+ trophies and awards. Team Hybrid cars have been featured in various magazines/DVD’s throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Russia, and Europe. Team Hybrid vehicles not only attend car shows such as Motion Auto Show, Formula D & Motor Trend Auto Show, Team Hybrid vehicles have also attended consumer and trade shows such as the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, CES, and SEMA as well as toured with major OEM manufacturers like Toyota throughout the US. At these shows, Team Hybrid represents itself and its sponsors in the utmost professional manner. Not only do Team Hybrid vehicles physically represent in the United States, Team Hybrid vehicles have also been shipped to foreign nations to attend sponsored races as pace cars.
Putting it simply, the legendary tradition of Team Hybrid has been blessed throughout the years and will continue to grow and prosper. Our team model and philosophy has truly been the most original and one of a kind. Not only is it measured by our success, but by the various import teams out there modeling themselves after us or asking us for guidance in their organization. We have our own way of managing this team and will never be like X Crew or Y Team. Our members believe in the tradition James and the other co-leaders have envisioned. We’ve had our ups and downs like any other Team, but because we truly believe in ourselves along with the President’s everlasting faith in our Team, we stay true to our game. This Team has become a second family to all of us now and we will grow together not only in the import scene, but in life as well.
“May our 25+ years of legendary tradition continue making history…” – James Lin
Over the past 13 years, our team has inspired many, brought greatness to more people than we’ve ever imagined, and ingrained ourself in the public consciousness with such force of will that we have become a brand and legendary name. Almost everything we touch, turns into gold. Every suggestive idea, innovative customization, almost every make/model of car, display, Hybrid Hunnyz, trophy, sponsor, trend, and even our management team of co-leaders have been looked up or copied by various import teams throughout the nation.
As your leader, it is my job to continue to lead by example, do what I must behind the scenes in order to continue making Hybrid History and keep us ahead of the competition while our members focus and build their car(s) to be best of the best. Actions speak louder than words. Not only are we making Hybrid History, we are making Import Industry History by placing two Hybrid cars on the same issue of both Outer & Inside COVERS in Performance Auto & Sound Magazine. Our team name is also printed on both covers to help sell the magazine. We will be the first team to ever do this. Some teams may score a cover here and there, but NONE (past or present) have scored two covers in the same issue in the last 15 years that I know of. NONE of them currently have the level of respect and relationship we have with our industry peers.
We thought making cover of March 2008 Super Street issue w/ the Scion xD was amazing. Now, we just topped ourselves. As some of you may know or those that subscribe, PAS is now two magazines in one. There is the PAS Cover and in the magazine, there is another magazine called PASMAG Overdrive which also has its own hard cover. On top of that, the editor in chief decided to run these Cover cars together in their 2008 annual issue which comes in a poly bag w/ their annual 2008::2009 import model calendar inside of it too. You can’t miss it and it is one or possibly, the highest circulated issue and stays on newsstands for twice as long.
Lastly, there is more Hybrid History in the making. This will also be the 4th consecutive month that PAS has featured a Team Hybrid car in their magazine. Most teams out there are grateful getting 1-2 features a year. We have already had 4 in a row and with more coming (as of now, 4 more to be exact). Team Hybrid continues to be the finest, oldest and most innovative import team.
Hybrid Luv,
James Lin

Team Hybrid, led by James Lin and David Huang, emerged victorious for the second year in a row in the 2007 Scion Tuner Challenge, and proved again why the team is considered a pioneer of the import scene. Team Koshak and Team Auto Concept Elite came in second and third, respectively.
The 2007 Scion Tuner Challenge invited tuner teams to trick out the 2008 xD, with the winner announced at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. Scion picked three Southern California clubs and gave them each a 2008 xD, and $15,000 (they were not allowed to exceed this budget), to modify the car however they pleased. The challenge was judged by the National Custom Car Association (NCCA).
Team Hybrid won last year with its slick xA. Team Hybrid has a great tradition in creativity, originality, and quality. With the guidance of Lin, the team founder and President, Team Hybrid continues to build a legacy as and one of the finest crews in the nation.
Team Koshak was founded by people who are passionate about cars and car building. With the Scion Tuner challenge, Team Koshak brought car building to a point that raises the bar for others to follow. Originally called team Samurai Aftermarket Fabrication, the team changed its name to better reflect their well rounded aftermarket efforts, including street machines and trucks. Team Koshak is named after the team founder.
Team Auto Concept Elite was established in August 2006 by a group of friends sharing the same passion for building cars and having a common goal to be the best of the best. Although new to the scene, the team has been featured in various media including magazines, the internet, and TV and movie spots. The team consists of a group of friends that treat each and every one of the members as family.
